WEBINARS

Whether it's for license renewal, career development, or to increase job opportunities, the need for continuing education is a very real demand every counseling professional faces. ICA works to make continuing education cost-efficient and easily accessible for your convenience. 

You will earn one hour of NBCC approved Continuing Education for participating in a live webinar, unless otherwise specified. 

Indiana Counseling Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 2015.

Note: Webinar participants should be aware that the live sessions they attend may be recorded. ICA retains the exclusive right to copy, distribute, publish, reproduce, and/or sell any webinar recorded by ICA. Recording by any attendee of any sounds or visual images, and use of any recording device or medium now known, or later developed, is prohibited at all ICA events unless prior written permission has been expressly granted by ICA.


WEBINAR INSTRUCTIONS

1) Register and complete full payment during webinar registration. A current list can be found under the Upcoming Events section.

 2) Attend the webinar in its entirety. 1 hour (60 minutes) of Continuing Education program= 1 NBCC hour of Continuing Education. 

3) Complete and send Webinar Evaluation and/or Learning Assessment (for Pre-Recorded Webinars) to execdirector@indianacounseling.org.

LIVE WEBINARS

If you have registered for a live webinar, you will receive Zoom meeting details in the webinar confirmation email. The confirmation email will also include requirements for attendance and continuing education. 

  1. Webinar participants are required to complete attendance during the webinar through instructions given in registration or provided by the webinar moderator during the live webinar. Attendees must be present for the entirety of the webinar and type their full name into the Zoom chat box to mark attendance. Since reported attendance is a requirement for receiving continuing education credit, if an attendee fails to provide adequate attendance, they will not receive any CE credit. Attendees are required to present during the entirety of the webinar session to receive CE credit.

  2. Attendees must complete a Webinar Evaluation following live attendance. The webinar evaluation link will be given to attendees by the webinar moderator at the end of the webinar presentation. 

  3. After attending the webinar in its entirety, you will be sent a webinar evaluation that must be completed and submitted to the Executive Director (execdirector@indianacounseling.org) in order to receive your CE certificate. Your CE certificate should arrive within one week of submission of the webinar evaluation, via the email used in your event registration. 


PRE-RECORDED (HOME STUDY) WEBINARS

If you have registered for a pre-recorded webinar, registrants must watch the webinar in its entirety. 1 hour (60 minutes) of Continuing Education program= 1 NBCC hour of Continuing Education. To receive continuing education for a pre-recorded webinar, registrants must complete a Learning Assessment and Webinar Evaluation

  1. After you have registered for a pre-recorded webinar, you will receive a PDF attachment with the Learning Assessment Questions in the webinar confirmation email. Learning Assessment answers should be emailed to execdirector@indianacounseling.org

  • ImportantEach pre-recorded webinar has its own Learning Assessment Form. Please check to make sure you complete the Learning Assessment questions for the pre-recorded webinar you watched. 

  • A score of 80% or higher on the Learning Assessment is considered passing, in which you will receive a Continuing Education Certificate. 

2. At the bottom of the Learning Assessment PDF Form is the direct link for the Webinar Evaluation Form.

3. After you have successfully submitted the Learning Assessment (80% or higher score) for the specific pre-recorded webinar and the Webinar Evaluation (see above), a Continuing Education Certificate will be emailed to you. Continuing Education Certificates are sent within a week of receiving all completed documents. 

FEES, REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

All fees are outlined in registration. Please log into your account on the ICA website if you are a member in order to receive the Members-only discount. Some live webinars will be offered free to ICA members, with the $25 fee for non-members. The webinar will indicate if there is a fee associated for members. Due to the minimal cost for webinar offerings, no refunds may be provided in order to cover administrative costs. 

PROGRAM COMPLAINTS

If a participant or potential participant would like to express a concern about the Indiana Counseling Association or a continuing education program provided by the Indiana Counseling Association, the individual may email execdirector@indianacounseling.org. Although we do not guarantee a particular outcome, the Indiana Counseling Association will consider the complaint, make any necessary decisions, and respond within two weeks.

SUBMIT A WEBINAR PROPOSAL

Thank you for reaching out to the Indiana Counseling Association and your willingness to partner with us to provide quality continuing education! 

Whether or not you are an ICA member, independently licensed professional counselors (ie. LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, etc.) can submit a proposal for a live webinar presentation. Presentations can be experiential, skill-building, idea sharing, or can be based on research position papers. Webinar presentations are considered a pro-bono service to the counseling community so that we can increase affordable, accessible continuing education for all counselors and counseling graduate students. 

Webinars proposals must include the following:

  • Full name(s) and professional credentials of presenter(s)
  • Title of presentation
  • Presentation format (live, in-person and online programs)
*Note: The Indiana Counseling Association is currently only providing continuing education in a Live Event Delivery Format).
  • Learning Objectives of the presentation
  • Presentation material that is geared towards counseling professionals, including but not limited to mental health counselors, addictions counselors, school counselors, and marriage & family therapists.
Note:  Client information must not be disclosed by a presenter or participant unless proper informed consent has been obtained for use in a continuing education program. 
  • Presentation material must include multicultural and diversity considerations in the application to various populations.
  • Attached CV/Resume

This form is to inform us of your research/presentation that you wish to provide for the Indiana Counseling Association. Webinar presentations will be selected based on the relevance of topic, anticipated interest, and number of proposals submitted on similar topics. 

Please send all the required information to execdirector@indianacounseling.org and we will review your request and follow-up with you regarding your proposal.
